The Z-Scale Layout is fully operational. Video
G-Scale versus Z-Scale. I've included this photo to visually show the difference in these scales. The two locos are of similar types. The scale of the larger, G-scale loco is 1:22.5 The scale of the Z-scale loco is 1:220. Thus, the size difference is approximately a factor of ten.
This is a close-up of a portion of the Z-Scale Layout. Although the size of the rolling stock and buildings is quite small, it's still possible to provide detail. For reference there's a 10 cent US coin in front of the street light. Note the people on the Bahnhof platform.
